What is a Hydrofacial or Water Facial?

Hydrofacials use water to create glowing and dewy skin by cleansing and hydrating deep in the facial pores. They are painless, effective on most skin types, and they renew and rejuvenate your skin. Which instantly leads to a stunning and glowing complexion!

Hydrofacials or Hydrodermabrasion pack a punch and is the latest in skin care. Hydrafacials are also another type of Hydrofacials. We use specialized tools, water, and serums to bring back radiance. Hydrofacials are a gentler and kinder alternative to dermabrasion.  There are no needles or razors involved in this type of facial. They effectively deep clean your skin and pores to remove build up and provide intense hydration that addresses individual skin concerns and leaves your skin glowing.  The procedure is most commonly used on the face, but necks and backs can also be targeted. It is performed by our highly trained aesthetician who uses a medical grade hydrodermabrasion device, which is clinically proven to penetrate deeper than traditional facials.

  1. The first step of the three-step process is the cleanse and removal of dirt and debris from pores. It involves deeply cleansing and exfoliating the skin, loosening dead skin cells, and cleaning clogged pores with a pressurized stream of saline solution and infusing the pores with oxygen.
  2. The second step, extraction, gently suctions the impurities from the skin and pores, removing all contaminants and debris.
  3. The third step, hydration, intensely moisturizes and infuses the skin with natural skin brightening serums, antioxidants, and peptides, designed specifically for your skin’s needs.

Hydrofacials increase blood circulation, thus promoting collagen production and elastin fibers, which tighten skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. The various growth factors in our products restore your skin’s health, maintain a stronger skin structure, promote growth of healthy skin cells, and preserve regular skin function. Your skin will be plumped, brightened, moisturized, and revitalized. You will love the results of a youthful, glowing complexion.

Unleash your inner glow with a hydrofacial

How often are treatments needed?

For long-term results for acne or hyperpigmentation, we recommend a series of 3 to 6 sessions, scheduled 4-6 weeks apart. Depending on skin and other factors, we may suggest more or less Hydrofacials to address skin concerns. To promote longer lasting effects of these potent facials, experts recommend incorporating them into your regular skin care routine, which is dependent on skin types (and other factors). Speak with your aesthetician on scheduling recommendations for your individual needs. Determining when the best time for you to get your Hydrofacial treatments is wise and can also be affected by seasons or events.

  • Spring Hydration: Hydrofacials can help replenish moisture from the dryness of winter and give you a healthy glow, making your complexion look as fresh as Spring morning.

  • Summer Cleansing: Heat and sun can cause clogged pores due to sweat, oils, and sunscreen. A summer Hydrofacial is ideal for cleansing your skin and helping to fight summer sun damage.

  • Fall Weather Transitioning: Cooler drier weather affects our skin and promotes drying. Prepping your skin for the transition to winter and promoting deep hydration is highly beneficial to your complexion.

  • Winter Hydration: Don’t let old man winter and dry heat can cause your skin to dry out. The exfoliation and hydration of a Hydrofacial can alleviate these conditions and provide the hydration and nourishment your skin is craving during the cold winter months.

  • Important Occasions: Hydrofacials are great for ensuring you look radiant for special events. Schedule one a few days before so you can shine.

  • Regular Maintenance: Ideally, scheduling routine Hydrofacials into your regular skincare regime is recommended by experts to promote longer lasting effects and to promote healthy vibrant skin. It improves tone, reduces wrinkles, soothes and tightens skin, and gives you a more youthful and glowing complexion. Speak with your aesthetician on scheduling recommendations for your individual needs.

What is the difference between a Hydrofacial, Microneedling, and Microdermabrasion?

How is a Hydrofacial different compared to microneedling or microdermabrasion?

  • Hydrofacials are a water-based microdermabrasion technique that uses a vacuum to remove dead skin cells and impurities. It's suitable for most skin types, even sensitive skin. All natural hydrating serums and extracts are used to remove impurities from clogged pores. The treatment involves multiple steps and cleanses, exfoliates, hydrates, and nourishes the skin. This minimally invasive procedure requires little to no downtime. Temporary redness or tightness that fades within a few hours if it occurs at all. You will see an immediate and noticeable improvement in skin texture, hydration, and radiance. Results can last up to a week, though with regular treatments longer lasting effects can occur.

  • Microdermabrasion exfoliates the skin using crystals or diamond tips to abrade the top layer. This process is more aggressive than Hydrofacial and is not recommended for those with sensitive skin. Temporary redness, swelling, and irritation occurs and can last several days. It does offer similar results to Hydrofacials, and they may be more noticeable due to the deeper exfoliation. Regular treatments are required as the result are temporary.

  • Microneedling triggers collagen production by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This is done by using a roller or pen-like device with tiny needles. Numbing cream is used to reduce discomfort during the procedure.  The procedure aims to reduce wrinkles, scars, and skin laxity. Redness, swelling and pinpoint bleeding can occur. The results of microneedling are gradual and become more noticeable over weeks or months, as it takes time for the body to produce collagen. The effects can be long-lasting and more dramatic than Hydrofacials and Microdermabrasion depending on skin type and other factors.

How much downtime is there with a Hydrofacial?

Little to no downtime is needed after a Hydrofacial. You can get on with your life with increased confidence and a radiant complexion immediately.  It is recommended that you avoid direct sun exposure for 48 hours. Otherwise, you can resume your normal routine and even wear makeup the following morning.

How long do results last?

You will immediately notice the amazing results from your Hydrofacial. Your skin will be radiant and glowing when you walk out the door. You can enjoy those results for up to seven days post procedure, if you follow the skin care regime suggested by your aesthetician. We carry a full line of medical grade, high quality skin care products to sustain your outer beauty and amazing results.

Can Hydrofacials be coupled with other treatments?

Hydrofacials can be combined very effectively with procedures to focus on a variety of skin concerns to achieve more effective and enhanced results. The right treatments for you will depend on a variety of factors. We offer a complimentary consultation, which includes facial scanning to identify concerns. We develop a plan to address those with the appropriate combination of treatments.

Some common treatments combined with Hydrofacials include:

  • IPL Therapy – Intense Pulsed Light Therapy uses light energy to target and remove hyperpigmentation from scars, sun, and age spots, or over production of melanin. IPL is also known as a photo facial.
  • Dermaplaning – A non-invasive, low risk procedure that uses a sterilized blade to exfoliate the skin and remove facial hair.
  • Microneedling – This minimally invasive cosmetic procedure uses tiny needles to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, acne damage, aid with alopecia (hair loss) and reduce skin elasticity.
  • Serums – Various serums can be utilized to address specific skin concerns and boost the effectiveness of the Hydrofacial.
